Jashn-e-Khushal Khan Khattak: The warrior poet of Akora Khattak remembered
Event held at a library hall to recognise Khushal’s literary and cultural services.

The Central Khushal Literary and Cultural Jirga organised Jashn-e-Khushal Khan Khattak on Sunday at the Khushal Khattak Memorial Library Hall, Akora Khattak, Nowshera to recognise the services of the famous Pashto warrior-poet Khushal Khan Khattak.
A large number of literary figures from across the province participated in the event. The luminaries included Aimal Khattak, Professor Aseer Mengal, Shams Buneri, Muhammad Usman Usman, Dr Nazir Tabassum, Mushtaq Shabab and Central Khushal Literary and Cultural Jirga President Muhammad Jan Jahangir. Speakers at the event paid glowing tributes to the work and personality of Khushal Khan.
Speaking as the chief guest at the occasion, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak praised the work of the great literary figure and said his poetry has great lessons of bravery, morality, courage and peace.
Khattak also appreciated the organisers of the festival for their initiative. “When people with such spirits are present in society, great personalities such as Khushal Khan Khattak cannot be forgotten.” The CM was flanked by MPAs Mian Jamsheduddin and Muhammad Idrees Khattak.
