On the run: Four robbers escape from custody

KARACHI: Four highway robbers escaped from police custody from the Super Highway. Five highway robbers were arrested on Thursday by the police, who detained them at the Abbas Town police post of the Sacchal police station for further investigation. However, four of the robbers, all of them alleged to Afghanis, managed to escape. Sources said that police personnel allowed them to escape after taking bribes from them, adding that the culprits were involved in a number of cases of highway robberies and weapons were also recovered from their possession.
