Consumer Complaint: Rs200,000 suit over faulty phone
Salman said he had purchased a used handset for Rs10,000 from Manzoor.

A consumer court on Friday issued a notice to a shopkeeper for selling a faulty mobile phone to a petitioner. Muhammad Salman has sought Rs200,000 in damages from Khwaja Mobiles proprietor Muhammad Manzoor. Salman said he had purchased a used handset for Rs10,000 from Manzoor. He said the respondent had agreed to take responsibility in case the device stopped working. He said the phone developed a fault a few days after he had bought it. He said he asked Manzoor to either repair it or replace it. He said Manzoor later said he had repaired the phone. But, Salman said, it stopped functioning again. He said Manzoor had told him to bring the phone again if stopped working but now he was not ready to repair or replace it.
