FAISALABAD: Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) on Thursday handed over a runaway child to his family. A CPWB said 13-year-old Nadeem was found in Sargodha and returned to his family in Faisalabad.

Nadeem told the CPWB team his father Nawab died four years ago and his mother Parveen had married another man. He said he had 10 siblings and seven step brothers and sisters. He said because his family was so large, his mother had handed him over to Sughra who found him a job at a house in Karachi. He said he was paid Rs1,500 a month. Nadeem said he ran away after his employer beat him. He said he went to a bus stand and boarded a bus without knowing where it was going. He ended up in Sargodha.
