OGRA allows Sui Gas to charge 3-month security deposit

The new security deposit will be based on consumers’ monthly average bill.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has allowed the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) to collect from its consumers a three-month security deposit advance, Managing Director Sui Southern Gas Company said, Express News reported on Thursday.


He said that the previous security deposit of Rs500 was too low, given that the tariff has been revised several times. The new security deposit will be based on consumers’ average bill rate.

Speaking to the media after visiting the Sui Southern Gas Company, Minister of State for Petoleum and Natural Resources Jam Kamal Khan said that Iran Gas Pipeline project could not be completed because America and European Union have placed sanctions on Iran, and if Pakistan was to work in this project these sanctions could be placed to Pakistan as well.
