BHAKKAR:
Police arrested on Tuesday the escaped brother of a man arrested a day before from Bhakkar for allegedly consuming human flesh.

The district and sessions court Sargodha approved seven-day physical remand of the two men, Arif and Farman. Residents in Kahawar Kalan town near Darya Khan vented their anger at the cannibals by breaking down the gate to their home.

A heavy contingent of police, including Elite Force members, has been deployed and barbed wire put up around the house.

A case has been registered against the pair under the Anti-Terrorism Act and other relevant laws.

Acting District Police Officer Amir Abdullah Khan will lead a special team formed to investigate the incident.

Earlier, the police took the brothers to the Anti-Terrorism Court Sargodha; as the judge was on leave, they were taken to the district and sessions court.

Samples of the head of the toddler recovered from the cannibals’ home have been sent to laboratories in Lahore and Multan. The tests will reveal the gender, age and time of death of the child.
