Workshop: Insurance regulators meet

A pre-conference workshop on Promoting Proportionate Regulation and Risk-based Supervision was held in Karachi as part of the second SAARC Insurance Regulators Meeting.
The conference was mainly for heads and senior officials of insurance regulatory agencies from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya and Turkey.
Senior Financial Sector Specialist of Office of Regional Economic Integration from Asian Development Bank, Arup Chatterjee, welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of cooperation and the sharing of information among insurance supervisors in promoting effective and globally consistent supervision of the insurance industry.
