Caught red-handed: Suspect remanded in extortion case

KARACHI:
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) sent on Monday a suspect on physical remand to police till April 24 over his alleged involvement in taking extortion money from a school owner.
The police said that the suspect, Faraz Ahmed, had threatened the owner of a private school in Gulzar Hijri and demanded Rs500,000 from him.
During the negotiations, the suspect had agreed to get Rs50,000.
The Citizen-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), along with the police, managed to arrest the suspect when he came to collect the extortion money.
