Body bearing marks of torture dumped along the roadside in Karori Union Council.
MANSEHRA:
Two married woman were found dead in separate incidents in the district, police said on Sunday.
Unidentified assailant(s) shot dead a woman and dumped her body by a roadside in a remote village of Karori Union Council.
The name of the deceased woman could not be ascertained as she was carrying no documents to help identify her. Police said the body bore marks of torture, indicating she was brutally beaten and then shot at four times before being disrobed and dumped by a roadside. Surprisingly, she was still wearing the gold jewelry including her wedding ring when her body was found.
The second incident was reported from Ichriyan Bafa village where a 26-year-old woman allegedly consumed poison. The deceased’s mother, Zaiton Bibi, told the police her daughter was married to Liaqat two years back but the couple had no children. Zaiton claimed her daughter often complained about the harsh attitude of her in-laws and husband.
On Saturday evening, Liaqat called Zaiton and said that her daughter had consumed poison. Zaiton said when she reached their house she found her daughter dead. The body was later taken to King Abdullah Hospital. The bereaved mother has demanded an enquiry over her daughter’s death.
