Students celebrated the onset of spring in festive style.


Beaconhouse School System Margalla campus organised a spring festival, themed “Express Yourself”, and there was no dearth of expression as students participated in a regional art competition, an arts, crafts and design club exhibition, a pet show and a food fiesta.

The regional art competition included teams from the north region of the school system. The students showed their art skills in painting, head sculpture, bust and still life categories.


The competition was adjudicated by a team of judges comprising Government Postgraduate College for Women Satellite Town Fine Arts Department Head Maymoona Khan, Islamabad College for Girls F-6/2 Fine Arts head Gaytee Ara, and Hassan Tariq, a sculptor from National College of Arts Rawalpindi.

Azka Ahmed from Beaconhouse Wah, Hamza Nawaz from Beaconhouse Lahore and Abdul Ahad from the school’s F-11 branch won the first positions in still life, sculpture and painting respectively.

Chief guest Zahidul Haq, an associate professor at National College of Arts, Rawalpindi, distributed prizes among the winners.

The background score for the celebrations was also provided by students. Hussain Shehzad, Usama Azam and Sarang Talpur of BMI-B sang and Faraz Sahel of the Beaconhouse F-7/4 branch played instrumental songs.

Members of the arts, craft and design club exhibited glass painting, pots painting, clay models, leaf printing, canvas painting and candle making, while some students brought their pet cats, dogs and birds for the pet show.
