Export Processing Zone: Second meeting held for Gwadar
Chairperson says body needed the support of stakeholders in order to develop 1,000 acres of land for the Gwadar EPZ.

The second meeting of the Advisory Committee on Gwadar Export Processing Zone (EPZ) was held on April 9, 2014. The meeting was chaired by Rabiya Javeri Agha, the chairperson for EPZA. While welcoming participants, Agha said that the body needed the support of stakeholders in order to develop 1,000 acres of land for the Gwadar EPZ. The development would help in the creation of jobs, keeping in view the strategic road networks that link Pakistan with western China. The participants unanimously endorsed that the land, earmarked as Gwadar EPZ, may be developed. Recently, Pakistan and China also agreed to establish an economic corridor by setting up different economic zones to give impetus to activities for achieving higher growth in the future.
