Two policemen were injured when unidentified militants hurled a grenade at them late Friday night.
According to officials of the City police station, hawaldar Jamshed Iqbal and constable Majad Khan were on a motorcycle during routine patrol when they were attacked in front of Government High School No 5.
Both policemen were shifted to District Headquarters and Teaching Hospital where they are said to be out of danger.
A City police official informed the injured cops were attacked by a suspect after they stopped him and asked for a body search, adding the suspect ran off after hurling the grenade.
A search operation was launched after the incident but no one was arrested and a case was registered.
