Brutally beaten: Tortured body recovered from a stream
Official says postmortem report revealed the man was beaten to death by rods and no bullet wounds were found on body.

The body of a man bearing torture marks was found from a stream in Ala Dhand area of Malakand Saturday morning. Touheed Khan, an official of the Ala Dhand levies check post, said a pedestrian informed them of a body’s presence in a nearby stream after which they rushed to the spot and shifted it to District Headquarters Hospital, Batkhela. The official said the postmortem report revealed the man was beaten to death by rods and no bullet wounds were found on the body, adding the man had been killed around 18 hours ago after which his body was thrown in the stream. The official added the body was kept in the morgue for identification and in the afternoon a man, Ayaz, identified the deceased as his brother Ismail, a resident of Chitral. Ayaz said his brother worked as a waiter at a hotel in Attock, adding he had no idea why anyone would kill Ismail so brutally. A murder case was filed against unidentified culprits and further investigation is under way.
