Inflation: Index up 0.55% during week
The SPI for the combined groups increased by 0.38%.

The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), for the week ended April 10, 2014, has registered an increase of 0.55% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the week under review for the above mentioned group was recorded at 206.03 points against 204.91 registered in the previous week, according to provisional figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined groups increased by 0.38%; up from 212.72 points in the previous week to 213.52 this week. Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for combined groups inflated 11.05%. During the week under review, average prices of indexed items changed as follows — 11 items registered a decrease, 21 items increased and the remaining 21 items remained unchanged.
