KARACHI: Around 90 people associated with the business community participated in the largest Pakistan business seminar ever arranged in Denmark. The seminar was hosted by the Danish Chamber of Commerce and the Danish Pakistani Business Council.

Ambassador of Denmark to Pakistan H E Jesper Moller Sorensen gave the key-note speech about the market potential in Pakistan. He also informed the participants about the recent positive developments, such as making Danida business instruments available for Danish companies, and the opening of the commercial section at the Danish Embassy.

Sorensen argued that this is the time to take a closer look at the Pakistani market. There could be a first mover advantage for those companies entering the market now.

He stated that he was encouraged by the interest he had seen in recent months from several Danish companies which are now beginning to look to Pakistan, while some have already visited Pakistan.

Secretary of the Board of Investment Imran Afzal Cheema and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Denmark Masroor Junejo also participated in the meeting.

Sorensen said that the Danish Embassy in Pakistan was looking to organise a trade delegation regarding energy and improving the energy efficiency in autumn. He also said that he had discussed with his counterpart in Copenhagen, the Pakistani Ambassador, to bring a Pakistani delegation to Denmark later in 2014.
