Two killed in firing incident outside Rawalpindi district court

Attackers kidnapped Advocate Sardar Amir, who succumbed to his injuries shortly after he was recovered.

RAWALPINDI: A lawyer and his nephew were killed while two others sustained injuries in an incident of firing outside a district court in Rawalpindi, Express News reported on Friday.

Two rival groups exchanged harsh words outside the gate of the court, after which five men belonging to one of the groups opened fire, killing one person and injuring three others.

One of the injured, Advocate Sardar Amir, was then kidnapped by the attackers.

Elite force personnel followed the attackers' vehicle and recovered Amir from outside the Ayub Park. The lawyer succumbed to his injuries soon after he was recovered.

A police representative confirmed that four of the attackers had been arrested, adding that they could not confirm how many people were responsible for the attack.
