QUETTA:
The two-day visit of President Mamnoon Hussain in Quetta caused massive traffic delays, creating difficulties for road users, mainly patients, women and school-going children. Police and security forces blocked the main arteries of the city for security reasons.
Hundreds of complaints were lodged about the blockade of the main artery. Zarghoon Road connects the nearby residential areas to downtown where hospitals, commercial establishments, schools and restaurants are located. “Quetta is a small valley. Blocking the main road is something that messes up the entire traffic of the valley,” said Rafiq, a senior citizen of Quetta.

Many people had to change routes on two or three occasions to get to their intended destinations as the main Zarghoon Road and its nearby links were barricaded. “I got to the office at 10:00 a.m. after being trapped in a traffic jam for an hour,” Mohammed Usman, a cashier at a local bank said.
