Poor service: Cell numbers of officers to be changed
Government purchases above 125 Blackberry mobile sets for this purpose.
LAHORE:
The Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) has decided once again to change its mobile phone service providers.
A senior official of the department said new subscriber identification modules (SIMs) would be issued in a week. The department had switched its service providers in January over service charges.
The department has now decided to switch to another company over concerns about service quality. In March, 2009, the government had provided Blackberry mobiles to senior officials for better communication.
The government had purchased above 125 Blackberry mobile sets for this purpose. Officers were asked to turn in their cell phones if they were transferred from their posts.
In case a post was abolished, officials were asked to return the phones to the department.
