High-handedness: Traffic warden beaten up by MPA’s brother

FAISALABAD: The brother of a member of the provincial assembly and his gunmen allegedly beat up a traffic warden near Rail Bazaar on Tuesday. Warden Rashid Javaid said that he was on duty at Gol Rail Bazaar where Malik Nadeem, MPA Malik Nawaz’s brother, parked his car in violation of rules. Javaid said he told Nadeem to park elsewhere upon which Nadeem and his guards beat him up. Javaid said he complained to the Rail Bazaar police but the SHO refused to register a case. Javaid said he then approached CTO Imran Kishwar who told the police to register a complaint against Nadeem, his driver and his guards. Nawaz said the traffic warden had humiliated and “assaulted” his brother first. “The warden is now dramatising the situation,” he said.
