Former Board of Cricket Control for India (BCCI) president N Srinivasan, even after being side-lined from the body’s affairs following an Indian Supreme Court order, will attend the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) executive board meeting, to be held in Dubai on April 9-10, according to ESPNcricinfo.

BCCI interim president Shivlal Yadav and secretary Sanjay Patel both refused to answer any queries regarding his attendance at the meeting, but a senior BCCI official confirmed that Srinivasan ‘will attend the ICC Board meeting’.

It is a normal routine that the BCCI president is inducted onto the ICC board as director while the secretary attends the ICC Chief Executives Committee (CEC) meetings. At every Annual General Meeting (AGM), it is the BCCI president who nominates the board’s representative at the ICC meetings.

The issue of the ICC representatives had been discussed at the last BCCI meeting held in Chennai on September 29, 2013, where it was verbally decided that ‘Srinivasan will continue to be in the ICC executive board and Patel in the CEC’.

BCCI has already acquired apex court’s directive to allow Srinivasan to continue with his ICC responsibilities, whereas the Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations has requested the ICC to side-line Srinivasan from the executive board and restrict him from taking over as the ICC chairman in July.
