Helping hand: DUHS to provide subsidised medicines

University plans to establish Dow Pharmacy Centres across the province.

KARACHI: The Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) plans to establish Dow Pharmacy Centres across the province. The centres will market drugs prepared by its pharmacology unit, on a no-profit basis. According to a DUHS official, the pharmacology unit is already producing various formulations in accordance with WHO standards. "We plan to market these formulations through a chain of centres in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Larkana," said the official. He said that the medicines would be available to customers at reduced prices compared to other places.
