Woman and child killed in deadly downpour

Two people were killed and four others injured in separate incidents in the district on Monday.
Charsadda Assistant Commissioner (AC) Javaid Khan said 13-year-old Nabila was killed and three members of the same family injured when the roof of a house collapsed due to a heavy downpour in Shabqadar.
The AC said the house belonged to Muntazi and residents were able to save his father Syed Muhammad, son Adnan and daughter Kalsoom from the rubble and took them to the District Headquarters Hospital.
The injured were later transferred to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar owing to their critical condition. Shabqadar Station House Officer Rasheed Khan said the deceased girl was a guest in the house.
Meanwhile, the assistant commissioner said Hakeem Saeed reported that his wife Amtari was killed and he was injured when the roof of their house caved in owing to the heavy rains. Saeed is being treated for injuries in a local hospital.
