The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said on Saturday that the authorities should "decide General (retd) Pervez Musharraf's case on merit rather than on personal likes and dislikes".
Addressing a farewell dinner at the party's international secretariat in London for Pakistan's High Commissioner to the UK Wajid Shamsul Hasan, the MQM leader said that the decision on the former president's case should not be biased. "The decision should not be made on personal likes and dislikes," he said on the occasion, which was attended by MQM leaders, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Nadeem Nusrat, along with other party members.
According to a press statement, Hussain said that he was merely offering his advice. "It is not an order," stressed Hussain. "It is just an advice and it is up to the leaders whether they want to listen to it or not."
