Land dispute: Seven people killed in Bannu shootout
Seperately, four of family killed, ten others injured in traffic mishap near Balakot.
MANSEHRA/BANNU:
A total of seven people including women were killed in a shootout over a property dispute in the Nasim Akbar Sheikhan area of Bannu on Friday.
Niaz Ali Shah had an argument with his nephews, which led to an exchange of fire between the two groups, DSP headquarters Bannu Sanaullah Marwat said.
Resultantly, Niaz Ali Shah, Roaidal Ali Shah, Yousaf Ali Shah, Amir Ali Shah and Sonia, Farooq Shah and Shah Niaz Ali Shah were killed. Three others—Asad Ali Shah, Gul Jamal and Jamal—were injured in the firing.
Bodies of the victims were shifted to the DHQ hospital Bannu for an autopsy. FIR of the incident was not registered till filing of this report.
Traffic mishap
Four of a family including two minor children were killed while ten others injured when a Suzuki highroof plunged into a roadside ravine near Balakot on Friday evening. Police quoted witnesses as saying that a Suzuki high roofcarrying over 14 people from the same family was on the way to Mansehra from Balakot when it reached near village Kaflang Hangrai the driver lost control of the steering and the vehicle fell off the road several feet deep gorge, killing four on the spot while ten others, all of them women and children, sustained multiple injuries. The rescue workers and police removed the injured and dead to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital from where six were referred to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad. Those killed were identified as Nazma Bibi, her one year old daughter, van driver Muhammad Munir and a one year old boy Usama Faheem.
