Violence round-up: Five bodies found, man gunned down in city

Five bodies, riddled with bullets or bearing torture marks, were found from various parts of the city on Thursday.
In the first incident, Memon Goth police found two trussed-up bodies at Buxshani Goth near Anara market. Some unidentified armed men kidnapped the two victims, killed them and threw their bodies at an abandoned location, said the police, adding that the victims were wearing shalwar kameez. The bodies have been shifted to Jinnah hospital for autopsies but they have yet to be identified.
Similarly, the body of a man was found by the Sukhan police near the Lala Naddi area. The police said the man was killed possibly four days back. The body bore severe torture marks but there were no bullet marks. The victim was wearing shalwar kameez.
Another unidentified body was found by the Surjani Town police near the last stop of bus route, W-18, in Sector 5. The victim was tortured before being shot dead, said the police.
In another similar incident, Zaman town police found a bullet-riddled body of a young man near Korangi Sector 51-C. Some unidentified armed men shot a single bullet in the victim’s forehead and threw his body near the local graveyard, said the police, adding that they have yet to identify him. The body was moved to Jinnah hospital for autopsy and was later sent to the Edhi morgue for identification.
Target killing
A young man was shot dead by armed motorcyclists near Super Highway’s Chakar hotel, in the limits of Sohrab Goth police station. The suspects opened fire at him while he was on his way to work.
The police identified the victim as Faisal Afridi, 26, son of Naeem Afridi, who lived in Federal B Area. He worked at a private company. The body was moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital as the police struggled to ascertain the motive behind the killing.
