The Sindh chief minister (CM), Qaim Ali Shah, wants the law enforcers to identify the forces spreading 'fanaticism' in Sindh.
Concerned about the recent attacks on places of worship, Shah directed the police and Rangers to wipe out 'anti-state' elements. He was speaking at a law and order meeting at Chief Minister House on Tuesday.
The CM also directed the authorities to stop the influx of IDPs and the construction of illegal madressas in the province. He also told the chief secretary to take up the issue of illegal SIMs with the federal government.
There are nearly two million illegal aliens living in Karachi and they have given birth to crime in the city, he said.
Acting Sindh IGP Iqbal Mehmood told the officials that the police department is trying to find out who is behind the attacks on religious places. Karachi AIG Shahid Hayat told the officials that 9,421 cases with 11,806 accused arrested in the ongoing operation have been challaned in different courts.
