Shahbaz Sharif takes notice of Lahore blaze

Fire caused by a short circuit, brought under control after hour-long rescue work.

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif took notice of a fire that engulfed the fourth floor of a building near Kalma Chowk, Lahore, Express News reported on Tuesday.

The fire, which reportedly erupted because of a short circuit, was brought under control after hour-long rescue work.

The building, Century Plaza, housed money changers, computer shops and travel agencies.

Four people - present on the floor when the fire broke out – were rescued and shifted to a hospital for medical assistance.

Shopkeepers in the area claimed that fire-extinguishing equipment was not available in the building.

In a recent incident on March 26, three people were killed when fire broke out in a shopping plaza in Lahore.

Imtinan | 10 years ago | Reply Dukaandaars said that there were no fire extinguishers. What a joke. If you can have lavish offices, why not protection equipment of your own? You are an excellent example of the irresponsible flock this nation is.
