Expediting the trial: Guljee murder case sent to district court
The three victims were found dead in their locked house on December 19, 2007.

Sindh High Court Chief Justice Maqbool Baqar transferred on Monday the proceedings of the triple murder of artist Ismail Guljee, his wife Zareen, and housemaid Ayesha, to the district and sessions judge, South, with direction to expedite the proceedings pending for over a year. The three victims were found dead in their locked house on December 19, 2007. Guljee’s son, Amin, a renowned sculptor himself, went to the SHC to seek the transfer of the case from the court of the first additional district judge, South, where the proceedings have been pending for the last 11 months. The applicant said the investigation officer had submitted a charge sheet against the two accused — their driver Akram Ali and servant Muhammad Anwar — while 11 prosecution witnesses have also been examined. The cross-examination of the last witness, the investigation officer Inspector Ateequr Rehman, has not been conducted as the case is pending.
