Farmer’s troubles: Leopard kills six goats

A leopard killed six goats belonging to Nisar, a farmer in the hilly area of Bakot, residents tell the media.

A leopard killed six goats belonging to Nisar, a farmer in the hilly area of Bakot, residents told the media on Monday. Nisar, a resident of Saranda Khan Kalan village, said the incident took place on Sunday night after he went to bed. The goats were kept at the ranch near his house; sometime during the night he woke up to the sound of the goats bleating loudly. By the time he got to the ranch, he found six of the goats dead. He said a leopard had killed all six goats. The farmer filed a complaint with the police and wildlife department. When approached for comment, Bakot police confirmed the report and said they were looking into the complaint. The wildlife authorities said they had started an investigation.
