Pervaiz Rashid visits Rumi’s home
Rashid says Express Media Group was presenting truth but unfortunately some forces were trying to stifle its voice.
LAHORE:
Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Pervaiz Rashid on Saturday paid a visit to Express News anchorperson Raza Rumi, and strongly condemned Friday’s attack on his car in which Rumi’s driver was killed.
Talking to Express News, Rashid said Express Media Group was presenting the truth to the people but unfortunately some forces were trying to stifle its voice.
“Express Media Group is an organisation which bravely pinpoints the problems and that is why it has been targeted by terrorists in Karachi and Lahore,” Rashid said.
He said every citizen of the country had the right to express his views and there were ways to present difference of opinion. “Islam does not permit taking anyone’s life,” he added.
He said, investigations were under way to identify the culprits, adding that Punjab government was already in contact with Rumi after he received threats and had taken steps for his security. He said the culprit will be brought to justice at any cost.
