PESHAWAR: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) intermediary Professor Muhammad Ibrahim condemned the attack on Express News anchor and analyst Raza Rumi, Express News reported on Saturday.

Unidentified gunmen had opened fire on Rumi's car in Lahore on March 28, injuring him and killing his driver. The attack had taken place just a few hundred yards away from the Express News office in Raja Market.

Prof Ibrahim stated that the TTP were maintaining a ceasefire and had not fired a single bullet since they had announced a month-long ceasefire on March 1.

He said that it is the state’s responsibility to protect media houses and journalists.

The TTP intermediary also said that the committee will discuss polio campaigns with the Taliban during their next meeting with them.
