Upholding Tax: Notice to Gymkhana Club suspended
LHC suspended a notice issued to Lahore Gymkhana Club for payment of Rs6.2 million withholding tax.

The Lahore High Court on Thursday suspended a notice issued to Lahore Gymkhana Club by the Federal Board of Revenue for payment of Rs6.2 million withholding tax. Justice Ijazul Ahsan directed Inland Revenue commissioner to decide on the club’s appeal within a month. Counsel for the club said the Federal Board of Revenue had issued a notice to the club to pay Rs6.2 million. He said an appeal was filed before Inland Revenue which is still pending. The counsel said a notice could not be issued till a decision had been made on the appeal. The court suspended the notice and ordered Inland Revenue commissioner to decide the club’s appeal in one month.
