Not impressed: Haider Zaman terms resolution a ‘drama’
Zaman urges PML-N, PTI leadership to be sincere to promises made and adopt resolution with required majority.
ABBOTABAD:
Chief of Tehreek Suba Hazara, Baba Haider Zaman on Sunday termed the resolution on Hazara province a mere ‘drama’ staged by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership.
Speaking at a news conference at his residence, he told journalists the PTI leadership was only interested in political point scoring. Referring to Article 239(4) of the Constitution, he said the for the creation of a new province or to alter the boundary of an existing one, the house needed to adopt the resolution with a two-third majority and it could not be accepted if the majority was less than that, adding in that case the resolution would be returned to the K-P Assembly.
About the renaming of the province as Hazara Pakhtunkhwa, he said the matter was a ‘joke’ and vowed to continue his struggle for a separate province. He urged the leadership of PML-N and PTI to be sincere to their promises made during the run-up to the elections and adopt the resolution with the required majority.
