GSP-Plus: President for boosting exports to EU
He urged ambassador to play an active role in optimum utilisation of the GSP Plus facility to boost Pakistan’s exports
ISLAMABAD:
President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday said the grant of GSP Plus status to Pakistan demonstrated the trust and confidence of the European Union in the quality and competitiveness of Pakistani products. He was speaking to Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Belgium Naghmana Hashmi, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr and discussed matters pertaining to her diplomatic assignment. He expressed the hope that the ambassador would work with full devotion to further enhance cooperation between Pakistan and the EU. He also urged the ambassador to play an active role in optimum utilisation of the GSP Plus facility to boost Pakistan’s exports to the EU countries. She assured the president that she would use all her potential and capabilities to further cement Pakistan’s trade and commercial ties with Belgium and the EU.
