SC orders appointment of IG Sindh in 24 hours
Interim inspector general says law and order situation in Karachi has improved.

The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered appointment of new Inspector General (IG) of Sindh within 24 hours, Express News reported.
The apex court issued this order while hearing the Karachi law and order case.
The position of the top cop in the province has been vacant for a month since former IG Sindh Shahid Nadeem Baloch retired from the post on February 20.
During the hearing at the Karachi registery, Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani questioned the interim IG about the recent clashes in Lyari which left 19 people dead.
The interim IG told the court that around eight gang members from Lyari were arrested for their alleged involvement in the unrest.
He further informed the bench that the overall law and order situation in Karachi has improved and that no big terror incident has taken place in March.
