Polio meeting: CM wants to upgrade healthcare

CM also noted that Sindh’s share of Rs565 million from a donor agency was not yet released by the federal government.

KARACHI: The chief minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has directed the provincial health management to prepare a plan to upgrade healthcare facilities for mothers and children, including nutrition supplements, and training for community midwives in every district. He was speaking at a meeting with Polio Oversight Committee, led by its chairperson Azra Pechuho, at CM House on Wednesday. Shah sanctioned Rs95 million for polio workers by deciding to raise their daily allowance. The chief minister also noted that Sindh’s share of Rs565 million from a donor agency was not yet released by the federal government.
