Gone missing: Family fears Afghan doctor kidnapped

An Afghan doctor has mysteriously disappeared from Board Bazaar and his relatives fear he might have been kidnapped for ransom. An official of University Town police said Dr Alif Khan, a paediatrician who has a clinic near Peshawar Board, disappeared on Tuesday and in all probability has been kidnapped.“The relatives have approached us and we are investigating the matter at the moment,” he said, adding that Afghan traders, doctors and other well-to-do people were frequent victims of extortionists and kidnappers.
