Trade ties: Indonesia eager to enhance bilateral trade, says envoy

A Free Trade Agreement (FTA) is likely to be inked in 2015 between Pakistan and Indonesia.

The Ambassador of Republic of Indonesia M Burhan Muhammad has said that Pakistan is an investment-friendly country and has a huge market, and his country is eager to enhance bilateral trade relations.



He said that Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between the two countries had been signed in 2013 and a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) is likely to be inked in 2015. He said that the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry is playing a vital role in promoting local products in the international trade markets and the chamber is always welcome to organise a single country expo in Indonesia.


He was exchanging these views with a delegation of the RCCI led by Acting President Malik Shahid Saleem at his office on Wednesday.


Member Executive Committee Muhammad Aqil Obaid, Assistant Secretary Media and Public Relations Muhammad Bilal Khan and Media Assistant Sheikh Waqar Anees were also present on the occasion.
