FATAULLAH:
South Africa defeated Pakistan by eight wickets in their ICC World Twenty20 warm up match on Wednesday at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, espncricinfo reported.

Chasing a small target of 72 runs, South Africa never looked uncomfortable, achieving their target with 36 balls remaining.

Hashim Amla scored 24 runs off 20 balls before he was trapped leg before wicket by Umar Gul in the sixth over.

Shahid Afridi, who had missed the first warm up match against New Zealand, took one wicket as well.

Earlier, Pakistan were skittled out for 71 runs after choosing to bat first. But they got off to a disastrous start when JP Duminy trapped opener Ahmad Shehzad leg before wicket in only the third over. After that Pakistan could not keep a stable partnership for long.

The only notable contributions of the innings came from Umar Akmal and Sohaib Maqsood, who made 17 and 15 runs respectively.

South African pacers Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Beuran Hendricks and Wayne Parnell took two wickets each.
