Financial burden: Man allegedly kills wife and son, commits suicide

A man committed suicide allegedly after killing his wife and three-year-old son in his house in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 13-D on Tuesday.
According to police officials, 35-year-old Sameer allegedly strangled to death his 28-year-old wife, Hira, and son, Abdul Ahad, inside their house and then hanged himself from the roof on Tuesday night. SHO Aurangzeb Khattak told The Express Tribune that Sameer was buried in debt and was facing a financial crisis.
“He was frequently complaining about his financial situation to his friends and family. Around 10:30pm that night, he told his mother on the phone that he is leaving the world forever with his wife and son after which he shut his doors and committed suicide,” said Khattak.
The police also found a rope in his room where the incident took place. The neighbours and family members took the bodies to Aga Khan Hospital immediately after the incident. The funeral prayers of the three were held at Masjid alGhazali in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
