KARACHI: Pakistan’s international batsman Awais Zia scored a whirlwind double century in SSGC’s thrashing of Pak Saudi International by an innings and 88 runs, helping them secure a semi-final berth in Patron’s Trophy Grade-II Tournament.

SSGC resumed day two on 198 for one and went on to declare their innings on 451 for three in just 70 overs in the tie held at the UBL ground.

Zia amassed 247 off 202 balls with six sixes and 34 boundaries, while Haris Ali Khan chipped in with a 118-run knock.

In their second innings, Pak Saudi were bowled out for 190 in 49.4 overs, with Mohammad Irfan picking up another four-wicket haul in the match.

In another match, K-Electric were struggling at 100 for seven in their second innings against Navy with an overall lead of 137 runs at the Arabian Sea Country Club.
