Till march 18: ATC extends remand of suspected target killer

The investigation officer requested the court for more time to conduct further interrogations.

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC-III) on Saturday extended remand of a suspected target killer, said to be affiliated with a political party, to police custody till March 18.



Waqas alias Poee was produced before the ATC-III judge, after being detained by the Rangers for 90 days. The prosecution had charged Waqas with killing two men, Mohammad Ali and Noman, within the remits of Risala police station on January 24.

The investigation officer requested the court for more time to conduct further interrogations. The court granted physical remand of the suspect to police custody till March 18 and directed them to submit report.

Waqas was arrested during a raid conducted by Rangers within the remits of Risala police station. A case FIR No (12/2012) was registered at the Risala police station under Sections 302 (premeditated murder), and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section-7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
