Bilal Sheikh murder: Court remands suspect in security officer's case

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday extended the physical custody remand of a suspect, Shahid Bikik, for five days in the murder case of the security officer for former president Asif Ali Zardari.


The ATC-III remanded Bikik after he was presented before the court in connection with the murder of Bilal Sheikh and others. A suicide bomb blast near Gurumandir claimed the life of Sheikh along with three others, including the alleged bomber, and injured several others on July 10, 2013.


A case, No.244/13, under sections 302 (premeditated murder), 324 (attempted murder), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees), 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with section ¾ of the Explosive Act and section 7 of the Anti Terrorism Act, 1997, was registered against the suspect at Jamshed Quarters police station.


The court allowed Bikik's physical remand and directed the investigation officer to present him on March 19.
