Kidnapping for ransom: Man sentenced to life in prison
Muhammad Pervaiz had abducted Ehsanul Haq and demanded Rs20 million for his release.

Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Ishtiaq Ahmad on Thursday awarded life imprisonment on two counts to a man convicted of kidnapping for ransom. According to the prosecution, Muhammad Pervaiz, a resident of Chak 39-GB, had abducted Ehsanul Haq, 11, on April 21, 2012 and demanded Rs20 million for his release. The boy was later released after his family paid Rs1.2 million to Muhammad Pervaiz. Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Ishtiaq Ahmad also sentenced Pervaiz to five-years rigorous imprisonment and fined him Rs50,000.
