Pakistan banks’ association: Husain appointed as secretary general
PBA is involved in consultations on banking sector related policy/regulation making.
KARACHI:
Tawfiq Husain was appointed the Pakistan Banks’ Association (PBA) Secretary General. “We are delighted to have a senior and respected banker like Tawfiq Husain join the PBA as we look to further raise the association’s stature and profile in the domestic and international banking communities and to make it more active in representing the Pakistani banking sector on all relevant forums,” said PBA Chairman Shazad Dada. Husain brings with him over 37 years of experience in commercial and central Banking, having been the country manager of the American Express Bank in Philippines and in Pakistan. He served two terms as deputy governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, and most recently as the president and CEO of Samba Bank Limited, Pakistan. The PBA is the representative body of banks and DFIs in Pakistan. It is involved in consultations on banking sector related policy/regulation making.
