ISLAMABAD:
The inquiry commission probing the gun-and-bomb attack on the city district courts recorded the statements of the slain judge’s court office staff and lawyers on Thursday.

The commission, headed by Islamabad High Court Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, recorded the statements of Babar Hussain, the guard of slain judge Malik Rafaqat Awan, and a reader at the court.

An official close to the proceedings said the slain judge’s gunman told the commission that he was “harassed” and “pressured” by the police to give a “favourable” statement.

On March 3, attackers stormed the city courts and two suicide bombers blew themselves up.

On Thursday, the commission also recorded statements of 15 lawyers and other court staff, said an official.
