ABBOTABAD:
The court of an additional sessions judge has ordered the registration of a criminal case against an ASP, DSP, SHO and nine other police personnel for entering a house without a search warrant.
According to lawyers - Atif Khan Jadoon and Faraz Ahmed, a police party headed by ASP Cantonment Circle Kamran Mumtaz, DSP Khursheed Tanoli and Cantonment SHO Shamraiz Khan raided Syed Nisar Hussain Shah’s house on February 5.
The policemen were allegedly under the impression that some absconders were hiding at the premises and entered the house without search a warrant. They reportedly harassed the inmates by firing shots into the air. Shah’s counsels filed an application in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Aurangzeb Khalil under Section 22-A of the CrPC seeking the registration of a criminal case against the police officers and their subordinates.
