Lightning crashes: One killed, 25 injured in separate accidents

One man was killed and 25 others were injured in multiple accidents in Kurram Agency on Tuesday.


A political administration official from Parachinar said a truck crashed into a car in Kaga Wala, Upper Kurram, killing one man and injuring six.

The car was on its way to Shablan and the truck was coming from the opposite direction when the accident occurred. The deceased was identified as Nawab Hussain, while the injured were taken to the Agency Headquarters Hospital, Parachinar.

In another incident, 10 people, including four children, were injured when lightning struck a house in College Colony. The lightning caused a fire, which destroyed the house, the official said. He added the incident took place early morning amid heavy rainfall and some snow.

Meanwhile, nine people were injured when a fire erupted in a house in Malana area of the city. The owner of the house, Abbas Mehdi, said a family member accidently poured petrol in a canister near the oven, which caused the explosion. Neighbours rushed to help them and took the injured to the hospital, Mehdi added.
