Railway tracks blast: No evidence found against suspects, JIT report
Court sends the suspects to jail on judicial remand till March 20.

A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report revealed on Tuesday that no concrete evidence was found against the men arrested for the explosion on the railway tracks near Dhabeji.
The investigation officer submitted the report of the JIT, which was formed at the last hearing, before an anti-terrorism court (ATC). The officer told the court that no concrete evidence was found against the men. The ATC-I accepted the report and directed the officer to submit a charge sheet against the suspect till the next hearing.
Meanwhile, the court sent the suspects, Abdul Khaliq, Ghulam Ali, Lal Bukhsh, Arbelo and Abdul Rasheed, to jail on judicial remand till March 20.
According to police officials, a six-year-old girl was killed and at least 27 others were injured following a blast that derailed 10 wagons of the Night Coach Express near Dhabeji area on February 4. Investigators revealed that the main track was destroyed using a remote-controlled device as the train approached the spot where the bomb was planted.
Earlier, in the remand papers, the police had claimed that the suspects confessed to their involvement in the attack during interrogation. The police had also claimed to have seized two remote control devices along with a wire from their possession.
A case, No.42/14, under sections 302, 324, 427 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code read with section 126 of Railways Act, section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act and ¾ of the Explosive Act was registered at Steel Town police station.
