ISLAMABAD:

Kosovo Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj said on Monday that his country was keen to enhance diplomatic and economic relations with Pakistan. Speaking at a discussion at the Institute of Strategic Studies (ISS), he said that it was a first ever visit to the country by a Kosovo official.

He emphasised the fact that Kosovo was the youngest state in southeast Europe and therefore recognises the importance of pragmatism in engaging with its neighbours, especially Serbia, despite the bitter history of conflict in the Balkan region.

He called for more people to people contact between Pakistan and Kosovo, as well as collaboration at the diplomatic level, in education and research, and in various industries including textiles, pharmaceuticals, information technology, and energy. Hoxhaj emphasised that Kosovo can serve as a bridge for exports between Pakistan and the European Union.
